Hire an embedded student

From the registers of a microcontroller to a board they designed and soldered themselves. Here is what each stage of the 42chips track covers, so you know what to expect from a candidate.

Skills, stage by stage

The track has three stages. Not every student does all of them: ask a candidate which ones they finished.

What they work with

Microcontroller
ATmega328P (AVR) on a board designed by 42chips
Firmware
Bare-metal C: no OS, no libraries, the datasheet and the registers
Hardware
Schematics, component choice, PCB layout, soldering and bring-up
Bench
Measuring instruments, bench power supplies, soldering and hot-air stations

What you can offer them

  • Internships. 42 students do internships during the cursus; an embedded one is the natural next step after the track.
  • Apprenticeships and first jobs. Embedded software, firmware, test or hardware.
  • A clear brief. Tell us the stack (chip family, RTOS or bare metal, hardware or software side) and we forward it to the students who fit.

Module showcase

The boards module teams designed, from the specification to the finished product.

The first module boards are on the bench

The electronics module runs for six months. Its projects will appear here as teams finish them.
